Mariupol received the first out of 72 trolleybuses for EBRD financing

The first out of 72 comfortable trolleybuses was delivered to Mariupol as a part of a joint project with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development..

It was informed in Mariupol local Rada on February, 21.

“The first out of 72 trolleybuses was delivered to Mariupol as part of a joint project of the Mariupol City Council
and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Mayor Vadym Boychenko inspected the new transport,”
the statement said.

It is noted that the trolleybus is equipped with air conditioning, passenger flow sensors and video recording cameras.The cabin has comfortable seats made in Poland.

The first batch to be delivered to Mariupol, will be 12 units, and this will allow to complete the existing routes and create new ones. It is planned to withdraw trolleybuses by the end of March. In this way, residents will be able to get a comfortable municipal service.
According to the director of the Department of Transport and Communications of the Mariupol City Council Vasyl Klat the first batch of trolleybuses will be divided into three routes.First of all, it is planned to create a new route №17, other trolleybuses will be divided between the existing ones – № 2 and 12.
According to the delivery schedule, 72 units of trolleybuses will arrive in Mariupol by the end of the third quarter of 2020. Thus, the MTTU park will have: 100 buses, 94 trolleybuses and 69 trams.
